Our Faith
“We don’t talk about God . . . we talk TO him!”
– Pathway young person to parents at the dinner table.
Faith is an integral part of the daily experience at the Vineyard Christian School. However, VCS is not just a school for those who have already made a lifelong decision to follow Christ. It is our mission to educate, provide transforming opportunities, and a nurturing growth environment because of our encounter and experience with Christ with
the full knowledge that students may not have or may not make that same choice.
Although fully integrated and generously supported in mission and values, as well as in facilities and infrastructure with Pathway Vineyard Church, VCS is comprised of students from families of many denominations and local churches. In addition, while demonstrating the integrity of our beliefs, we foster a nurturing environment that welcomes and encourages students from families with different faith beliefs or even no faith beliefs at all.
It is our aim, through prayer, weekly chapel services, rigorous and thoughtful exploration of the Word of God, examination of competing worldviews, and daily exemplifying Christ-likeness to give every student the knowledge of what defines the life of a Christ-follower. However, it is not our policy to ask, require or demand that students profess faith in Christ to be welcome, accepted and successful at VCS. We are fully aware that we represent our Lord but are not able or required to play the role that only God, through the Holy Spirit and by the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ accomplishes in the eternal transformation of believers.
