VINEYARD CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
- An Educational Experience Worth Investing In
The latin word “magis” is a basis for our values at the Vineyard Christian School. It is often translated as “more” but that loose and simple translation does the word little justice. It is more a value system, a worldview that permeates the Christian life. It may be better
understood as “ever-expanding and deeper”. This is a defining mark in the life of a Christ-follower and of those who are inquisitive and committed to growth.
In the spirit of magis VCS is committed to providing an affordable yet transforming educational experience. It is our policy to use the best in educational curriculum available and deliver it from a Christian worldview. Some Christian schools effectively and exclusively employ Christian curricula. Although VCS does use these curricula for content areas that move us toward our targeted goals, we do not use Christian curricula exclusively. Our philosophy of supporting every student is often best supported by using curricula that is highly differentiated. These texts and teacher resources allow us to teach the same concepts to students with a much greater bandwidth of ability. This is rooted in our belief that it is people who shape the lives of students, not books.
It is our desire to instruct students how to think critically, not what to think while sharing with them the Gospel that has changed our lives. In every area of instruction, our staff is committed to delivering the content required for mastery through a Christian worldview that will stand up to the ever-increasing challenges facing our students.
The Vineyard Christian School fosters a “no zero” policy that is designed to build the character trait of integrity. Students may not choose the option to pass in work that is incomplete or not attempted and accept a grade of zero. They are referred to Academic Support and Mentoring resources to overcome the organizational or academic challenges they face until success is achieved.
